Tips to booking an epic adventure in vegas!

One of the things that I have recently become oh so familiar with is planning epic trips to Vegas.  Now most people would be so overly excited at the thought of drinking their problems away and making a quick buck, but before you fall too far into the toxic dream world, make sure you have your bases covered.  Vegas has been hurting recently.  This means one very important thing, good for you and bad for them.  Booking a room in Vegas has turned into something similar to buying a car…  You look at comparables, amenities and overall what kind of price deal are you getting.  All this may seem a bit overwhelming but believe me you will appreciate it when you check in.

Starting with the hotel selection.  Many hotels offer rock bottom prices for multiple night stays but most of them disclose that it is Sun-Thurs only.  Reading the fine print is very tedious but unfortunately for us who need to save a buck…. Necessary.  The star rating is essential but not a deal breaker. It just depends on what you are going to Vegas for… a shit show with the guys or girls, a romantic getaway, or a relaxing weekend away from the office.  In any case, selecting the hotel based on star rating is not always the best way to go.  Most of the hotels are grouped in rating to make it easier for us to choose from.  I like to say 3 star or above and you are doing fine.  I start my search at my favorite bookmarked site, smartervegas.com.  This site has really snagged some great deals for me personally.  The list of hotels are right there and unlike many 3rd party sites, most of the deals go directly through the hotels.  [I am not affiliated with any hotels or sites; I’m just sharing my personal favorites.]

Like I said before, the process is similar to purchasing a new car.  Multiple night stays always score you the best deals.  Don’t just settle for the lowest hotel room price because of the monetary value.  Many of the hotels are including things like free buffets, free shows, 2for1 nightclub passes, and resort credits.  These hold a lot of value to us but not to the hotels.  This is why they can offer these types of incentives.  DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK…. What can they really say… no?  Well then you are back to where you started.  If you are spending the money get what you deserve.
If you are worried about what the hotel looks like inside the rooms, don’t resort to the hotel’s website because those images are definitely professional.  Try a website like tripres.com they have plenty of customer pictures to put your mind and eyes at ease.  Sometimes you will disagree with the rating because of the pictures and have a really epic time.

I like to say that you can’t really put a price on security.  So I tend to lean towards the deals that come directly through the hotels website.  I do this for a few reasons…. The first being that once you book the room it goes directly into the hotels database.  The next is because the hotels are liable for what is done on their branded site.  Lastly, sometimes the best deal can only be found through the hotel itself.  Just one last point of advice… watch out of for added on service and resort fees.  Really take the time to see what your actual total is.  They might try to charge you when you get there so maybe call ahead or just fully read your receipt before confirmation.  Other than that you are ready to roll!

I am not here to comment on what the best hotels are and where you should stay because I am not a hotel critic or expert.  I just want to share my personal knowledge on scoring awesome deals on Vegas trips.  There is nothing better then charging multiple things to the room then watching the charges be erased upon checkout.
Vegas is what you make it… so put on your dancing shoes and drinking hats and live life!

Blog.i.am

Exactly 5 months until my 25th birthday I have finally leaped into the world of blogging.  On a daily basis I verbally critique and inform about everything I do.  It may sound exhausting but in a weird way it works for me.  Talking about my finds, interests, and daily deals gives me a calming sense of comfort.  To many this may seem like “yelling in the woods” but hey, its personal.
There are a few topics that I hope to cover on this blog site.  The first being “my favorite finds.”  This topic will cover everything from my trips to HG to my online discoveries.  The second header or topic will be “the designer’s desk.”  This will include all of the things I am passionate about and my opinions about them.  I will include many things like pictures, links, and featured designers.  This blog is an outlet for me and is growing just like me.  I don’t claim to be an expert on anything, but I do have a passion for many things.
As cheesy as this little introductory blog is, I still find it necessary; maybe not for the readers but for myself.  Hopefully in the end it will be a reminder of how and why I started this.
